Prof Peter O’Sullivan is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who consults at Body Logic Physiotherapy 3 days per week and specialises in the assessment and management of chronic musculoskeletal pain disorders.
Peter is also a Professor at Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia where he teaches at a postgraduate level and conducts clinical research. Peter has an international reputation for his ground breaking clinical research investigating the development, classification and management of chronic spinal pain disorders and the development of a new management approach to NSCLBP – cognitive functional therapy. He has published over 80 papers on his work in international journals and has presented the findings of his research at more than 50 National and International conferences and has conducted workshops in over 22 countries. Peter’s expertise is the application of research to the clinical setting.
Body Logic Physiotherapy Specialists are also leading clinical researchers into musculoskeletal disorders, based at Curtin University, School of Physiotherapy. This research has helped change the way that musculoskeletal disorders and examined, diagnosed and management. They also work closely with top researchers around the world to bring the best care to you.
Dr Judith Thompson has conducted ground breaking research into the assessment and understanding of continence disorders.
Dr Tim Mitchell has conducted research into back pain in high risk occupational groups.
Chris Perkin has conducted research into sporting related back and groin pain disorders.
JP Caneiro has conducted research into neck control and back pain in rowing and adolescent populations.
Dr Ricard Yin has conducted research into falls prevention.
Body Logic Physiotherapy has been involved in the prevention of low back pain in rowers at Perth College and PLC over the past few years. This program involved education, Specific Individualised programs and Conditioning components.
The program showed:
- Improved lower limb and back muscle endurance
- Improved usual sitting posture
- Significantly improved mental health
- Performance of the Intervention School Rowing team was improved !!!

PREVENTION OF LOW BACK PAIN IN ADOLESCENT FEMALE ROWERS: A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY INTERVENTION STUDY
Alison Thorpe has recently published her Master's Thesis (Assessing the efficacy of a specific physiotherapy intervention for the prevention of low back pain in female adolescent rowers: A field study) in a peer reviewed journal. She has also recently presented this paper in a conference in Nepal.
