international olympic committee sports medicine conference

During June 2010, Alison presented at an International Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Conference in Kathmandu, Nepal and also conducted a series of workshops for the Nepal Physiotherapy Association. She continues to establish links between Curtin University and the Nepal Physiotherapy Association, to facilitate the development of sports medicine in Nepal and to provide opportunities for Australian physiotherapy students to experience physiotherapy in Nepal.

Alison Thorpe has succesfuly passed her specialisation exams! Shoulder pain is Alison's area of expertise.

Alison is one of the only 62 specialist physiotherapists that work in Australia! At Body Logic's team counts now with 6 specialist physiotherapists. Congratulations Alison! 

Alison has recently published her Master's Thesis (Assessing the efficacy of a specific physiotherapy intervention for the prevention of low back pain in female adolescent rowers: A field study) in a peer reviewed journal. She has also recently presented this paper in a conference in Nepal.

Caroline da Silva Is a Physiotherapist and Certified Pilates practitioner with Dance Medicine Australia. She has been working with Clinical Pilates and Physio in the management of musculoskeletal injuries and designing exercise programs for patients of all ages. Coming from a dance background Caroline has a particular interest in the prevention and treatment of dance injuries. She also enjoys applying her creativity to classes and treatment through the use of Pilates in rehabilitation, sports performance and conditioning training.

 

a research leader ahead of our team 

It's with great pleasure that Body Logic Physiotherapy announces that A/Prof. Peter O'Sullivan has received the title of Professor of Physiotherapy! Prof. Peter O'Sullivan balances his time working clinically and at Curtin University of Technology. Over the past 10 years Prof. O'Sullivan as part of a highly qualified group of researchers at Curtin University has produced outstanding research evidence in the management of chronic spinal pain.  

Prof. O'Sullivan's work is internationally recognized and has inspired many physiotherapists worldwide. It's an absolute honour to have Prof. Peter ahead of our team at Body Logic ! Congratulations Pete!!!

Women's health specialist

 

Dr. Judith Thompson has succesfuly passed the specialisation process and has become the first Women's Health Specialist physiotherapist in Australia! This was a great achievement Judith! Congratulations!!!

Vicky Negus recently gave birth to her son Flynn.  We are waiting for some photos and wish her well in her new role of motherhood and hope she gets some sleep too!
